Capella by the Sea Elopement in Brookings, Oregon with Sunset Portraits at Meyers Creek Beach
There are few places on the Southern Oregon Coast as charming as Capella by the Sea in Brookings, Oregon. Surrounded by towering trees and overlooking the Pacific Ocean, it's one of my favorite venues for couples who want an intimate, meaningful wedding without sacrificing incredible scenery.
This beautiful elopement began with a heartfelt ceremony inside Capella by the Sea, continued with portraits at Meyers Creek Beach in Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor, and ended with a relaxed reception surrounded by family and close friends.

An Intimate Ceremony at Capella by the Sea
The day began inside Capella by the Sea as family and friends gathered for a quiet ceremony overlooking the Oregon Coast. The chapel's floor-to-ceiling windows filled the space with soft natural light, creating a beautiful setting that kept the focus exactly where it belonged—on the couple and the promises they were making to one another.
One of the reasons I love photographing weddings at Capella by the Sea is how relaxed everything feels. The venue is intimate by design, allowing couples to spend genuine time with the people they care about most.
Celebrating with Family
After the ceremony, everyone gathered for a relaxed reception filled with good food, heartfelt toasts, and plenty of time to simply enjoy being together. One of the biggest advantages of an intimate wedding is that the schedule never feels rushed. Instead of moving from event to event, couples can slow down, have real conversations with the people they love, and actually experience their wedding day.
As the evening continued, anticipation started building for one final adventure before sunset.
Ending the Day at Meyers Creek Beach
With the reception winding down, we headed toward Meyers Creek Beach, one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline within Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor.
The timing couldn't have been better. As the sun dipped lower over the Pacific, the cliffs, sea stacks, and shoreline were bathed in soft golden light. We explored the beach at a relaxed pace, letting the landscape guide us while creating portraits that felt natural and true to the day.
One of the reasons I often recommend pairing Capella by the Sea with Meyers Creek Beach is how seamlessly they complement each other. Couples get the intimacy of a chapel ceremony followed by some of the most dramatic coastal scenery anywhere in Oregon.
